Srinagar, Mar 10 (KNO): The students at Srinagar Women’s College are living under the constant fear of stray dog attacks within the campus.
An aggrieved parent told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) his daughter lives with the daily fear of being attacked by dogs within the college premises.
There are so many dogs inside college campuses and this is a reflection of the daily risk students’ face,” the parent said.
Similarly, a student from the college also confirmed the lived experience, saying the presence of packs of stray dogs roaming freely within the campus creates a constant feeling of danger.
“There are packs of dogs roaming inside college and nobody is doing anything,” the student said, adding there is a dumping site on the backside of the college and all the dogs gather there and later come inside college campuses and even close to classrooms and the ground.
She added that last year many videos from the college went viral on social media where dogs were seen chasing students. “The principal of the college got changed recently this year, and we don’t know how the new one will do anything in this regard,” she said.
Meanwhile, KNO also tried to contact the Principal of the Women’s College Srinagar for comment. However, repeated calls and text messages went unanswered—(KNO)
